born in 1970,
studied biology at the Technical University Munich and obtained his diploma in
biology. Afterwards he worked as a PhD student with the Fraunhofer Institute
for Atmospheric Environmental Research, investigating aspects of the synthesis
of plant secondary metabolites, and received his PhD in 2001. During his postdoctoral
positions he mainly worked on gene expression analysis in plants and microorganisms
using DNA array technology and Real Time PCR. Further aspects of his work
include the genetic transformation of different plant systems and
microorganisms as well as their molecular biological, biochemical and
physiological characterisation. |
